April 5th
What came across me is still unknown
because how this has turned out
still causes me to be mind blown.
And I now shout,
“On that April 5th day, my life changed.”
Conversations as sweet as sugar.
Never ending laughter at
nothing that matters, but my smiles so much wider.
And when they ask why, I say that,
“On that April 5th day, my life changed.”
The world now revolves around you.
I can never imagine I would’ve gotten far
without the bullseye hitting true.
And yet, here you are.
On that April 5th day, my life changed.
The memories are like a stab to the heart.
Treating me as if I was anybody else,
I remember I thought of it as a piece of art.
And now, I think to myself,
“On that April 5th day, did my life really change?”
A repeat of the previous year.
Yet another knife to the core,
This has always been my greatest fear,
And I’m stuck in this cycle once more.
But on that April 5th day, I really thought my life changed.
