Applying For Social Security Disability

Applying for Social Security Disability

By Elton Camp

Whenever unemployment comes to rise
Applying for disability seems quite wise
Those who try to get by doing that way
Are increasing greatly almost every day

Some, of course, truly do have disability
Many are really looking to get money free
And they see no good reason as to why
It would be wrong even to tell a big lie

“My back hurts so terrible I can’t stand.
And I have little control of either hand.”
The claimant knows it’s very hard to say
That they don’t really feel just that way

Once the person begins to draw a check
Even if he works, it is very hard to detect
Especially if the boss they do prove able
To get to pay them underneath the table

But the risk is that if fraud can be shown
It’s payback and perhaps to prison gone
And so many are getting money that way
Funds will soon run out, or so they say

I suspect you live in the UK, that certainly rings true. A nice poetic whinge at society - enjoyed.

Nick, I live in the USA and the poem describes the actual situation relative to folks trying to get disability. It is out of control. Elton
