Apple of the Devils Eye
On my 6th fifth by the fourth
And of course I’m all alone
The voices inside my head
Keep me company since you’ve gone
Some call me stoned
Others say I’m high
But if the bottom of the barrels good
Then I guess I’ve touched the sky
I keep holding on, to this guilt deep inside
Every drink helps fuel the cold hard truth
As the memories help me die
And I guess that’s why I might
Be the apple of the devils eye
Bridge
First it was temptation that lead me down that road
Next thing I know I’m driving there solely on my own
What’s right is right, yet every night, I know I’m in the wrong
Down and out on empty with a soul that has no home
Do you think this needs another verse?
I keep holding on, to this guilt deep inside
Every drink fuels the cold hard truth
As the memories help me die
And I guess that’s why I might
Be the apple of the devils eye...
Yes I know I’ll lose this fight
I see no end in sight
I’m the apple of the devils eye....
I’m the apple of the devils eye
