This is a play on two meanings to the same phrase... Apple of my eye. In scripture the phrase is speaking to God's protection. The apple of the eye is the pupil... think of something coming for your eye and what's your instinctive reaction? Close your eyes to protect them... brush whatever is attacking away from this vulnerable part of our bodies. God is telling us how he will instinctively protect us, his children, as he does the apple, pupil, of his eye. The Second meaning... This phrase has come to mean, someone very precious and special to us... they are the apple of our eye. Psalm 17:8
Apple of My Eye

Psalm 17:8
“Keep me as the apple of the eye*, hide me under the shadow of thy wings. “

Chorus:
Apple of my eye
Baby, please don't cry
I'll keep you safe
I'll carry you
And keep you as the apple of my eye

Verse:
We fight against wickedness in high places
Every Christian faces…
The darkness…
Never sleeps
Sometimes we know defeat
Under His wings we can hide
In His love abide
Until we're strengthened once again
Climb upon His lap
Tuck your head beneath His chin
Close your eyes
Listen to His lullaby

Chorus:
Apple of my Eye
Baby, please don't cry
I'll keep you safe
I'll carry you
And keep you as
The apple of my Eye

Very pertinent observations. The apple of our eyes is the entrance of magnificent thoughts.
