Apple of Eve
Autumn strips the tree
No leaves to shield her now,
Silencing her voice, ignoring her plea,
He forces her to bow.
The wind watches, without moving
As autumn eats his prey
He comes he steals her everything
And then soon goes away.
But leaves behind a fruit alone
That the wind tries to free,
But as the fault is her own
The wind now shuns the tree.
Alas! centuries have passed but many still believe
Paradise was lost because of Eve.
