Applause Or No Applause

Day after day we’re trying to reach inside to pen that one poem that: Stands out above the rest Has that it factor Is deep and thought-provoking Will put you in the spotlight Have others speaking about your talent Will put you in the in-crowd Will make you popular in SoupVille lane My question is, is your ink from your heart? Dip your ink in your soul and make a splash, whether it’s big or small, on a blank canvas and write your truth: applause or no applause. Alexis Y. 12-20-2020

Alexis, you’ve written many poems that float to the top of the soup bowl and this one is no exception, an excellent write, I love that line - is the ink from your heart? I’m sure most soupers could answer that with a yes. Belle :-)

Hi Alexis, I start a poem as if I was writing a story then about 4 lines down decide what style of poetry its going to be. I love poetry since the age of 14, my Grandfather instilled the love of poetry in me, he wrote in both English and Greek and sadly I only found a handful of his poems when cleaning out my mom's cupboards after we sadly lost her . I agree with you 100% of the way and love what you said and the how you put this important message across. Hugs and Blessings Alexis. Jennifer.

Gifts from the gifted... Writing is the way I say what is in my heart even if I'm not always the best at it, I love to do it... write, that is... it is therapy for me, a way to give a piece of myself. God B L E S S you always

You must have feeling for what you write. No use trying to compose a masterpiece. And then there is luck. I can tell you I posted some good poems that were ignored whilst others that I wrote on the spur of the moment were well received. ~~

Yup. If it's not from the heart, you can tell right away. Great point, Alexis. ~ gw (Soupmail, please. Thanks, gw)
