Notes About The Poem
Apocalypse

Apocalypse Rising

Armies gathered going to war,
the Devil rises we're not safe anymore.

The rapture came we were left behind.
No way to escape our sins made us blind.

All of our flesh will be stripped from our bone!
God cannot help us we face this alone

We didn't believe Jesus, we're headed to Hell.
We trusted in a dark angel, from heaven who fell.

His kingdom insidious, filled with pleasure we chose.
Now replaced with pain and sulphur in our nose.

We throw ourselves from mountain tops, still we don't die.
Stung by strange demons, our insides start to fry

Unimaginable pain in the end all nations bow.
The King arrives on the clouds, the future is now.

A beautiful city, comes down from the sky.
We look on in amazement, as we ask ourselves why?

An amazing promise, the heavenly father has kept.
To the lake of fire, the rest of us sinners are swept.

A powerful view of the apocalypse, Richard. A cautionary poetic warning for the unrepentant soul. Strongly worded poem in which the last stanza stands out. Love and peace, my friend.

How I'd love to have a discussion with you on this topic as I have very definite beliefs about end time events and the second coming....How I wish! Hmmmmmmm...no way to go into it here, but...lovely write, Richard. Yes...a time is coming when evil will have to be done away with for all eternity. My I tell you a story?

I man was sitting next to his cozy fire when he noticed a spider walking straight for the fire in the fireplace. "Silly spider...You will fry if you get too close," and he brushed him away. Again..later, the same thing happened...Time and time again, the kind mind tried to save the spider till finally, he had to let the spider go his way...As he neared the fire...he went up in smoke. Hell is not so much a punishment as it is a purifying fire. Sin needs to be dealt with once and for all. God has tried to keep us from going there, but...we chose it...eternal separation from Him..that will be the real torture of those final moments. Even then God is merciful. Hell will not be eternal....Just till sin and those who cling to it are eradicated. Well, that is what I believe anyway! :)

Howdy sir! :) Be sure to change the title to "Apocalypse" Rising. That said, this writing had a very powerful setting. Yet, what seems like a battle for the ages, can really be equal to one person's ultimate struggle from within. The battle of doing better or not doing anything at all. Excellent, once again.

Richard....you believe in the secret rapture or is this just poetic imagery...

A little of both. Many people would like to believe there is no Hell. The Bible talks of a blessing if we warn others about this horrible place. I think in a day of political correctness no one wants to talk of such things.
