Apart

From the placid strength
Find me here alone
Take a longing heart
Call it to your own
Meet me in the silence
Far from echoes past
Draw me to the fountain
Hold me ever fast
Reach the wounds inside me
Bring your healing touch
Stitch the gaping hold;
Pain is paired to such
Better to bear scars
Than absence of a heart
Let us speak alone
You and I, apart
