Anything Else

let me feel anything else.
i want to pretend, like everyone else.
this world is a wonderful place.

numb, numb, numb.
left only with a crumb
of how we used to be.

dumb, dumb, dumb.
too vacant to be glum.
now you see the real me.

no place to run
but i have room to hide
inside my head.

i'm in your bed
and you're getting bored
of all the swallowed words.

i'm trying, i'm trying.
can't you see, i'm dying
for a love that hasn't hit full bloom.

there's nothing you can do
but watch it consume
and i wish i felt anything else.
