Anxiety

Chest tightening
body frozen

Overthinking takes control
Just take deep breaths

Deep breaths turn into hyperventilation
Pain consumes your chest with each quick inhale

The room gets smaller
Suffocation sets in

Everything that is so small
Turns into large obstacles

Suddenly you feel alone
darkness sets in

Large groups of people
Draining all of your energy

Overthinking everything
Sleepless nights

Anxiety is part of me
Don't forget to breathe

Laken, anxiety seems to run in my family, although I am luckier than some, tho I was much worse as a younger person. Live and learn ways to cope is/was my motto. . Some of it in our family may actually be ptsd, which creates anxiety all by itself. We all seem to have a bit of it, but some are more extreme. My brother would definitely relate to your writing on this, as would my youngest daughter. I hope to see you back here soon Laken :)

Thank you Lenna. I hate to hear that. It also runs in my family. It comes as a symptom from Type 2 bipolar disorder for us.

Oh, rat's nest! I am so sorry you have to deal with anxiety. I am in that boat with you, bailing as fast as I can. You have painted this monster very vividly. Well done. Hang tough!

Nicely expressed my friend. Though I don't experience this I know people who do. You have shown a bright light on this condition with your words.
