Antisocialmedia

Live the life
where you let others judge and praise
more religiously than God,
with all the shackles of social media
you adorn in blindness,
letting trinkets fill you with ecstasy,
and trends that eventually bend,
and lies smothered with flies.

Boasting faces and places
craving comments
loving hearts and thumbs-up -
'Oooh you traveler'
'Wow you've done that'
'So so cool'.

But freedom you have none;
you live in the glass box
getting visually raped by scrollers
and when you hit a low,
you keep yourself sane -
and feed others a faux visage
that you know they will love.

Honesty isn't always the best policy
when you chase for likes
and thirst for eyes and ayes.

It becomes a drug,
your drug to frick,
letting others drug you,
but hey
this is the beloved curse
of the now.
