Anti-Maskers

I think that I can guarantee
That many who remain mask-free

Make others who are rules-obsessed
Both furious and super-stressed

And wishing they could find a way
To make uncovered faces pay

For those whose nose and mouth are bare
Are thus proclaiming, “I don’t care!”

The maskers of the world retain
Their diligence, perhaps in vain

Unless vaccines will set them free;
I hope that there’s a dose for me!

Caren Krutsinger December 26, 2020 at 1:11 PM I am related to my own Covid Mary who refused to wear a mask. She would be the first one to bully her way to a hospital bed. This poem resonates with me.

Gershon Wolf December 20, 2020 at 2:59 PM Gosh, this works perfectly, ilene -- right in sync with Joyce K's classic, (the only poem I remember from high school)... As for anti-maskers, although I wear the mask compliantly, I am sympathetic. The guidance on masks has changed a couple of times, the governors keep moving the goal posts, and there's still no definitive proof that they do any good whatsoever. That said, I still wear the mask. At least, so far. Cheers, Gershon
