Anticipation
The babies are coming, the babies are coming
And there are enough to go 'round.
In just a few days or perhaps one short week
They will be here and we'll have our first peek
At two little strangers we already love,
Packed with great care and sent down from above.
The babies are coming, the babies are coming!
It's hard to keep feet on the ground.
Everything's ready and all set in place.
We are so eager to see each sweet face.
We're buying double the things they'll be needing
Dozens of diapers and bottles for feeding.
The babies are coming, the babies are coming!
I'm the happiest grandma to be found.
Two brand new babies to cuddle and rock.
Two little darlings to add to my flock.
I hope I'll be needed to help with the twins.
When they come in such numbers, everyone wins.
The babies are coming, the babies are coming!
Heaven assures us they are Earthward bound.
Knowing our twins will be here so soon.
I'm writing this song and composing a tune.
I hope it falls gently on their little ears
As I hold them close and call them my dears.
I'l be doubly elated when they both appear
And I tell everyone, "Yes the babies are here."
