Ant Colony

As I journey down
this trail seeing numerous
ant towns as I call them
or better name ant colony.

Counted eight in all
just short of thirteen,
give them time, each day
they're growing in large numbers.

Mr ant eater would have
a feast here, don't think
they have a weight watcher's
club for these amazing creatures.

Colorado wild life department
would really frown on
having an ant eater at Lowell ponds
so will settle for
wild life that's here after all.
