Another Life

There in another life.
I walked along. 

There in another life.
You came along.

I felt you in the sun.
Where did the time go?

When we were one.
There in another life.

I felt your heart beating against my soul.
Where did the time go?

When we thought we were in love.
Why did it not manifest for a lifetime.

On a bed of roses, I lay with you.
But now I see them no more.

Why could we not dance this dance forever more?

However, sometimes it is hard not to think back and lament what we thought we could have had. Or what we thought we had. Your poem captures this sadness with precision. It's about a girl who broke up with her guy and now she wishes she had never given him up. If I remember it, I'll let you know. I think it was sung by Taylor Swift. I really enjoyed this.
