Another fallen star

She walked into the room With a swagger in the hips Her hair was golden brown Red ruby paint upon the lips High school years were over Her small town was left behind She had now passed eighteen years And swore this would be her time Planned to get a part time job Then move to worldwide fame She knew she'd be a star Everyone would know her name That was ten years ago And she's still in the diner She's never made plans For trips back to Carolina She's done living in hope That her big break will come soon Meanwhile she takes orders For the meals served at noon Still goes out in evenings With no thought of movie scripts One more man will take her home Seduced by red ruby lips

Wow! This captured my attention from the start. It’s rhyme and rhythm matches the energy of the would be star waiting tables and doing what else she seems necessary to survive. Great job!
