Another Dead End
diversion
the avenue closed
not even a toll
grants further passage
a travelling circus
waits at the roundabout
all exits closed
until further notice
traffic lights on red alert
department of transport
in administered logic
regulates apathy
trees alongside
hang on for dear life
construction workers
excavate fearful roots
no U turn allowed
fixed penalty fee
points on my license
for not moving on
a perilous overpass
meets the illusion of
tunnel vision
on borrowed time
my mind inches forward
stagnant collision course
slowly I shake off the duvet
tomorrow will be another escape
