Annual Christmas Pageant
Listen to poem:
poinsettias scattered all about
it’s a hoopla at the community centre
kids of all ages gathered to see Santa
the sheer excitement and anticipation
a rumbling roar with electricity in the air
he’s on his way but it's a long wait
people make the most of time
getting up on the stage
with a dance a song or a skit
dressed up in our sunday best
suit or dress with fancy shoes
what a sight as you entered the hall
majestic tree at least twelve feet tall
decorated with colored lights and balls
popcorn garland all around
angel starring high on top
no difference through the decades
every kid’s dream come true
to meet Santa face to face
and especially delectably delicious
to whisper in Santa’s ear
all our innermost wishes
