Anniversary Poem-Things Not Missed
Anniversary Poem-Things Not Missed
On this our anniversary
I just could not forget to thank you
for the things not missed
since you and I have met.
I would have missed the setting sun
With you there by my side.
I would have missed the shooting stars
That you and I have spied.
I would have missed the sound of waves
Crashing on the shore
And oh, I know I would have missed
These wonders and much more.
I would have missed the Chickadee
That perched upon my hand.
I would have missed your footsteps
There beside me in the sand.
I would have missed the feeling
Of your hand upon my cheek.
I would have missed the sunlight
That reflected on the creek.
I would have missed your smile
And the way you like to kiss
And oh, there’s so much more
That I am certain I would miss.
I would have missed the laughter
That you’ve brought into my life
But most of all I would have missed
The chance to be your wife.
So, on our anniversary
I just could not forget
To thank you for the things not missed
since you and I have met.
