Anna and the French Kiss

Anna and the French Kiss Beckon from above Should I quit this painting For the face I love Shall I paint the Left Bank Sitting on this bench Or be teaching Anna In my broken French From the Eiffel Tower Anna calls in vain High above the green grass By the River Seine Near the Macaroon Bar On a cloudy day Savoring a coffee And a light parfait Anna thinks about me Lovingly it's true Searching for my image On the avenue Though I like to paint her As I often do Anna needs a French Kiss And a lover too.
