Ankle Bites

My heart drops
at ankle bites
Aren’t we all a part of human-kind…
Kindle kindness
The human race…embrace
Poli-ticking bombs, , ,
b r e a t h e…
Play ping-pong
d i s c u s s
Don’t be a ding-dong,
shrieking bell
We aren’t all right,
or wrong.
Hate religion…okay,
but it is okay
that some are religious…
don’t a b u s e them
We a l l have beliefs.
Depending on where your heart is,
is where your issue is -
not nearly everyone
is on the same page,
but be
k i n d -
like a gentle wind
Don’t be
over-ripe -
don’t let your words ripple
like whips, tearing others apart.
Love thy neighbor
kiss their hands & feet, metaphorically;
kiss each cheek

Thank you for sharing this one, Kim. We do each have our own ideas or beliefs. We should be tolerant of others and respect them as they should us. If we can, somewhere share the gospel to them. Sara K

I like the idea of kindness being independent of beliefs!

Thank you, David! Likewise, it is nice if one can receive kindness in that same spirit :)

loved the title and the reference to ankle bits...that was brilliant. Your words convey an important message about the kindness we humans need to have for one another. Kindness breeds kindnes both in thought, word, and deed. Well done, Kim. Have a delightful evening, Sara

Kim, your creative poem conveys a powerful message about communicating, especially for those of extremes: those who keep their mouths shut, no matter what and those who feel they must always use their tongues like hatchets, no matter what! There IS such a thing as a "happy medium"! Janice

Yes, a happy medium, not compromise, but respect and kindness. Hugs ~ Kim

Kim, you wrote a magnificent poem. For all the things you listed, many people are going hungry without even realizing it.

Yes, please, I'll have that and an infinite amount to go so I may feed others. Many are starving for this and don't even know it. Poetry hugs ... CayCay

Maybe. I don’t believe in wishy-washy either. Truth is needed, but we can show respect. Hugs. (I don’t have all or many answers)
