Seeker's Animating Innate Vibrance Contest ~ November 2, 2024

Line of inquiry: "betwixt the pulse of our heartbeat simply present, head-heart linking dwelling in time stretched blissful peace awareness became unblinking" Unseeking Seeker He was a charming chameleon, saying all the right things in that beguiling masculine timbre of his sultry voice. Allure in his hazel eyes promised things my heart hadn't felt, but it ignored my head's warning until I had no choice. A niggling of worry continued to swirl through my mind that something was wrong. Something I couldn't quite define. He had shortcomings but to all of them my heart was blind. I desperately tried but reasoning couldn't keep my heart in line. Much is written about the rebellion of a treacherous heart, and how it rhythmically pulses with the need for passion's fire. It's been the cause of many sleepless nights when I'm fraught knowing I cannot extinguish my heart of its burning desire. It has always wanted what it wanted and wouldn't be denied. It's always managed to overrule what my mind was thinking... until it'd been crushed and broken, and only then did it confide that it should've paid more heed to my head and heart linking. Hearts can be guilty of transgressions. Mine was by betraying me. Then it had to pay the steepest price that infatuation could ask. From the grasp of lustfulness, my heart was able to break free. Balancing the volition between mind and heart is not an easy task.

Dear Lin, splendid poetess, you are not alone.. your poem speaks for many who have experienced the heart's tirade against the head trying to reign it in. Vivid imagery brings your heartfelt introspection to life in such an intimate way. Indeed, hearts can be wild and headstrong. You capture the mind's struggle with the heart's burning desire eloquently. Congratulations for your success in Seeker's contest. Warmest wishes my friend.. ~Susan

Good morning and thank you for your ever gracious comments, Susan. Seeker pushes my consciousness to go where it sometimes has never wandered. Sometimes where it'd rather not tread, but sometimes I manage to unearth what it is he seeks. lol He's chosen the perfect name. Heart supersedes the mind very often, and I know that's not always a good thing, but a heart wants what it wants and will not be sidetracked. Thanks for your kind thoughts.

Congratulations on your win, Lin, with this pensive poem of introspection and your ambivalence, your sense of the tiger behind the rock, the animating of your intuition. Always enjoy your poems. High fives and hats off to you! Blessings of joy!

Dear Lin, I think you have artistically captured the eternal struggle between heart and mind. Your words speak the wisdom of the universal experience of passion's allure and reason's caution. Reading this, I felt so much raw emotion. You've crafted great advice for anyone showing love's complexity and the wisdom gained from heartache. Autumn Blessings, MY Dear Friend, Daniel

It's one of those 'been there, done that,' writes. You know the kind that reminds us that "the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak." Thank you, Daniel for always choosing your comments to reflect the true meaning of your insight into my poetry.

What a well penned message Lin, I guess we've all been lead by our heart and not our head especially when we were in our youth Lin but of course it can happen any time! hugs Jan xx

Youthfulness has no hold on hearts, Jan. You've been that route with me a couple of times, and always at my side. You're such a great friend.

Lin this is the best entry so far I have read for the contest. You relate through your emotional and lustful mistakes your heart ruled your better sense. Allowing another to take advantage of you. You then realize the error in judgement and realize not to let your heart and lustful desires override your common sense. Love this clever theme that rings true with many of us. Your words are perfect in sending a cautious message to those that engage in similar situations. This is magnificent. Fav.

Sometimes we're blinded and fail to see the warning signs until it's too late. We think we learn from our mistakes but we don't. The heart has a lot to answer for. Good luck Lin. Tom
