Corporeal salutes
the corporal 
in you 

angels
earn their wings
in the beating 

rising in everything
solace is found 
in the grounding

we fall 
back down to earth
reasoning surfaces 

along the scars
that lift the bless'ed be
buffed bluff of us

the silence 
becomes us
kissing prayers 

all hallelujahs
swallowed 
rise eventually

to bring us home
dancing, duly 
misunderstood

Loved the relation at the end, Angels coming up roses. Clever thought, I think of John Watts poem A Rose And Her Thorns, when I read this. He wrote in Connies Tribute. Love how roses are being used lately. Enjoyed reading, thank you for posting...

It is always sad when those we hold in high esteem and love exit this plane. Your comment duly noted. Another fine poet next to Connie Marcum Wong that comes to my mind, who many stalwarts here will remember and know, is Winged Warrior (whom I had indepth, regular communication and comments). I have not had the pleasure of reading Mr Watt’s ode...yet. However, this poem is about change and evolution, specifically for the ‘walking kintsugi’, who remain in no slight form in this plane, to fight the good fight, in whatever means they have within their unfurling wings.
