Angel Without Wings

You held my hand as we walked through pouring rain
Yet you were absent when my tears rained
Your embrace protected me with no blame
Yet now your lost from me who's to be blamed?
Your loving breath caresses my face
Now I'm devoid of breath how can life be faced?
Our soul's childlike games playing chase
My soul now a lone wolf, never embraced

Why are you know where to be found tonight?
My angel without wings has took flight
Absence doesn't make the heart grow fonder
Absence took my life this night

You were a tenant, my heart your home
Now it rests uninhabited, never re homed
Your spirit opened doors we ventured through
No doors or ventures my forsaken can enter through
With open eyes our world was pure to view
My eyes wide shut, only darkness viewed

Why are you know where to be found tonight?
My angel without wings has took flight
Absence doesn't make the heart grow fonder
Absence took my life this night
