Angel of Stone

An angel of stone in the garden out back Four generations of watch has done In the winter wind and summer sun Went through it all without a chip or a crack Political strife and many wars have passed She stood through it all smiling on us This was the one thing we all could trust As long as she stood watch everything would last Went out to the garden to enjoy the day Bad news of the world is everywhere Another bad day in world affair My angel of stone had turned to clay
