Angel In the Swing
Taking a lonely walk I rember the day
when I did this walk with you
as if it were yesterday.
We were knee high kids in that day
as we held hands along the walk
heading down to the park.
You had me push the swing higher
in that warm summer breeze
and your golden hair glimmered
in the rays of the sun.
For many years we did this in youth
even the day we married
we stopped to swing high.
Three years ago your swing went
empty but I still come
to remember our days so high.
I know you still there in that swing
even though the cancer took you away
because I here your voice on the wind
saying higher yet higher.
