And Where Do I Stand
"Shame on you if you fool me once,
Shame on me if you fool me twice"
But you are my only honest chance
And you are a compelling, addictive vice.
It was the first time our eyes had met,
And it was a spark that could stop several hearts
It was anticipation and it was said,
in secret whispers from spirited arts...
"Love is a many splendoured thing"
That was a spell of sleepless nights.
Oh! time did many fantasies bring
And dreams were like fluttering kites.
Again, time did what it had to do,
It brought parting as a gift.
No more talking, no more you --
A beginning of a heart break's rift.
It's strange how things go back and forth.
Heartbreaks and spells of charms intertwine
Love and its seemingly silly worth --
Thoughts and feelings of mine....
Now I stand at a two-way road
With doubts and strangeness crushing me
Now, should all this be farewell bode?
Or should I understand that you are finally loving me?
