And Thus That Thing

and thus that thing….
			it came again….creeping
			   		 	……..creeping
								………ever creeping
whispering……
		……..“what if”
				……..”what if”……
						………“what if….
	        							     …….it’s not good enough”

winged shadows of doubt
			………….hovering dissention
							….creeping…..
									…….across the page

….challenging
		……the pen
			     …..hissing
					….”what if…..what if”…

								…..nobody reads it….
cold shapeless clouds
			…..creeping
					…..creeping..
							…..deadening the sky
										….growling….

……in the belly of fear
		           …..growling…
				   …….…...you are not good enough….

….the doubts
		…..the creeping
				….doubts
						…….were right….

……..so sits…….
			……….a pencil
					      ……..broken….

by the endless….
		    …..ever creeping
					…..trembling hands
								….of doubt….

I love the way you formatted the poem and the impact of the repeated lines. Having had my simple style criticised I can relate and recently my muse has had a bit of a holiday ... got my pencil sharpened and am raring to go:-) HUGS JAN XX

Beautifully expressed in thought and concept. Exceptional presentation. A visual delight.

I feel that way every time, John. I don't have a lot of confidence in my writing ability. No ego, so it really doesn't matter. Love the write:)
