And They Never Saw Her Again

She was
Invited to a garden,
Where she drank the finest wine,
Dancing in the moonlight,
Eating from the vine,
Words are like a harvest,
If only she could tell,
This picnic staged in starlight’s,
Is where she slipped and fell.
Among the fields of silence,
An echo could be heard,
She looked around without guidance,
 Feeling quite absurd,
An unexpected chill
 Brushed against her pasty face,
She suddenly realized,
It was time to leave this place,
With nowhere else to be,
She said her final plea,
“Goodnight kind sir, it’s been real great,”
“The time is now half past eight,”
He gazed deep in her eyes,
Then whispered his goodbyes,
She walked up to the silvery gate,
Rejection was something he did not anticipate,
Abruptly the entrance closed,
Now a place that no one goes.
