And the Demons Roam

THIS WAS WRITTEN IN THE EARLY 90'S
IT WAS AND IS APART OF A BOOK
                         PRELUDE TO EACH CHAPTER..SCARY YES...

Let the children sleep
cause soon they'll weep
in the dark of night
with nary a light
and the demons roam
thru out the home...
                   the home..
. the home...
and creatures creep
when blood they seek
and when the tale is told
of the days of old
a time will come
beware our young...
                 our young....
                       our young......

When it comes to feed
while the children sleep
and the night is dark
and fear's in our hearts
cause at last he's free
and the children sleeps
    and sleeps.....
           and sleeps......

I miss that...loved Poe growing up -- and childhood was such a mysterious, and, sometimes, gloriously fearful place. Don't enjoy the horror movies of today...too gory -- they say too much -- leaving nothing for one's own tremulous imagination.

Too true! As a child, I loved to creep into my eldest sister's room and pretend to be a mountain lion, monster, demon or whatever to scare the hell out of her in the middle of the night (but it was a lot more fun when I did it in bootcamp)! Aloha! Rico
