And That Was When Part 6
And That Was When Part 6
So often you enjoyed
Those long strange years imprisoned
In Life and Time,
Especially the new ones you brought in,
Reliving the perfection you once knew.
And there were Loves,
And Friends
And Enemies
And hates and joys and fears
All on the way
As the currents bore you
To the distant, unknown
Other shore.
There were always ten questions
For every answer,
Ten regrets for every triumph -
But you learned.
You learned to see.
You learned to wait.
You learned to listen.
And always, without knowledge,
You learned to watch
For what was coming.
And that was when
Your days built you
For better or worse
For greater or less.
And that was when
Your vision dimmed or brightened,
Not without - within.
