And So It Begins
And so it begins … now
when silence shrouds the night
and this part of the world
slips in the depth of sound sleep.
Sound begins to ricochet from four walls,
vibrates in the nocturnal air around me.
On my slumber the waves of echo break,
and I’m now wide awake.
The silence of the dark splits in pulses,
as the decibel count rises and falls
I feel being on the sea of sonata,
waves of cadence tossing me up and down.
The source of the sound
I know, she is in deep sleep beside me.
For years I’ve spent sleepless nights
to discover the melody in the rhythm.
And so it begins …now
And I hear the sound of music.
