And So I Wrote a Poem

I thought that I would never love
I guess that I was wrong
I tried my best to tell you so
And so I wrote a song

They laughed at the idea
They wouldn’t let me start
They said my voice would never do
And so I painted art

You didn’t grasp the concept
You couldn’t see how I feel
You left not knowing what it meant
And so I cooked a meal

I had to wait outside
They saw the firemen go in
You were just happy I was okay
And so I wrote a poem
