I was counting days 'till he would be mine,
I was ticking off nine.
One morning I felt not a thing,
so my husband gave the doctor a ring.
And so comes this love . . .
My baby had flown up above,
he had left in the night for the divine;
and in my heart he will ever twine,
to my sweet boy I just wanted to cling;
and a lullaby sing.
And so comes this love . . .
Then, I had to let go of my dove-
Often, I walk among the yellow pine,
to where he rests in the sun . . . shine.
