And I Remember You

I gaze into a sky of stars Embedded in this night And watch their twinklings, blue and white, Across its darkened dome. Once in a while, a shooting star Flashes its tail in flight As on its journey it speeds by To where I’ll never know. They say there’s asteroids out there And rocks as large as Earth, Which, if they slammed into this sphere Would send us all elsewhere. Here, as I sit and scan the sky Of beauty in this night, My memory recalls bright eyes And I remember you. W.C.Hull © 2017-5-4-1007-F rev Sep 30, 2018
