And I Could See

"You were the gentlest one amongst all,”
My mother used to tell me often.
Late at nights,
I was mumbling these words
To remember it often,
To say in front of a mirror.

In my dream I saw a figure,
Hazy and obscure
All I knew that,
He is another player
Holding the ground.

Trying to play
A test match of cricket,
Slow and steady, at all costs.
And I could see a cross
Hanging on his bare chest,
I do not know why.

Words are pouring,
Words are weaving,
Words are everything
Left for now.

And, in my heart, I knew,
I am ready to forgive him,
For every sin that is known.

At a moment like this,
I could wait for those words
To pass away slowly,
Before it begins again.
