And I Breathe...

I touch the air around me
And I feel to have felt for a while… perhaps
Everything seen is through the air to see
Simply breathing in moments to have had

Nothing more they are, nothing more am I
Simply existing for importance termed
If seen… do they not float with a sigh
To survive perhaps for only moments yearn

So much there are, yet so little to feel
So much I am, yet to the world so small
Do I know… suppose if I knew
Becoming tears for moments once to befall

And nothing more can I do
Because the world can turn you but you cannot turn the world
Irony… for it’s a world we rule
And when troubled is it not back to the world we only hurl

Like nothing is the air around me
Feel did I felt it for a while… perhaps
A world only to be, a me if only to see
Simply to breathe in moments to once have had

Joel, Thank you. That was beautiful - you have rendered me speechless. Much love, Cynthia.
