Ancient Wisdom
Within the landscape of a wistful dream
Where reality gives way to surreality
And things are not as they first seem
My mind travelled to a distant land
Of desert sand.
There
I came across the ruins of an ancient city
With strangle sculptures like I'd never seen
A place unlike I'd never been.
A cursing wind and sandstorm
Held soft whispers and strange haunting music
Unlike I'd ever heard
And as I stood under the
Warm sins glare
I was suddenly aware of a Lady
Riding a white stallion
With long wild flowing golden hair.
Her eyes told me a story
Without a single word spoken or heard
She told me many secrets and ancient wisdom
That set my soul and spirit
As free as a bird.
The once prosperous city and ancient civilization
Was lead to destruction
By greed corruption famine and war
The likes not seen before.
It suddenly dawned on me
That the city wasn't ancient at all
It was in the future
And man's stupidity
lead to it's downfall.
Man hadn't realized and forgotten
Life's simple rules
That we should live in harmony
With nature and it's creatures
Cherishing life and our precious Earth
And lived by God's word
And what Jesus his son and our saviour did teach us.
After all said and done
Despite our differences
We are all brothers and sisters
under the same moon stars and sun
We should be more understanding
As God intended.
and live as one
