An Open Window
Look in the mirror,
what do you see?
A reflection of self, a picture of me.
Look closer, look longer,
is that what you still see?
look past the make-up,
look past the smile.
eyes tell it all,
a reflection it may be.
a window, a gateway,
a reflective pane-
past it all do you really see?
shatter it in a thousand shards,
makes no difference
pieces still remain.
Look into the mirror
do you truly see?
