An Open Letter To a Tory Wife

You see we were able to hold our own before
And keep the wolves from our own front door
But this we are now struggling to do since your
Husband and his party changed the rules

This is not just your country you know
Your playground, your way, you always first
The protection of power, money and privilege
Which you think you can have until the end of your days, NO WAY

Why are your children worth more opportunities than mine?
Just because your husband happens to be called
Something like ‘Kensington-Smyth’
And why are they encouraged to get used to this from an early age?

Mine are raised that we are all the same
That we all have to contribute in our own way
I believe mine are just as capable as yours, every day
In fact more so, because when I have finished they will understand

Why they have to work and earn their pay, in a fair way
AND help their fellow man whether they may be
Black, blue, pink, white or green, formerly grand, from any land
Irrespective of background, something which yours will never understand

Unless you show them another way
But you don’t want your lives to resemble the working poor
Because that’s just not the Tory way
Some day......some day......

And you may just think this is all just a spout
That it will never work out
Yes it will if we restore democracy
And sort the tax system out
