An Old Man's Dream

This ache in my heart, remembered from long ago
It teases my body, It torments my soul
I was a young man back then, foolish and vain
Now as life's shadow grows longer, I can still feel that pain

I can't understand why my mind let’s me feel
Such longing for you, please God were it real
Each day my heart aches, with exquisite desire
For an old man’s last dream, as his shadow expires.
