An Old Hippie

He's just an old hippie
Whose time
 Has come
And gone
Nobody plays
His music
Or listens
To his song
His long braids
Are out of fashion
His sandals cause
Him pain
But, he hangs on hoping
They'll come back again
Surely, in his day
He was" the man"
Now it's hard to make
A Peace sign
With his arthritic hand
It's time now
For the old dog
To make room
For the pup
So, I would like
To say to him
"Dad, just give it up"

Hippies never die; they just go up in smoke :) Nicely written and brought me a smile. Congratulations on your success.
