An Ode to Love

 Love is a smile, a tear, a touch
Love says it all and means so much
Truly love's what happiness is
Pure contentment, delightful bliss
Love is gentle and love's refined
Love is what brings us peace of mind
It is the language of one's heart
Devotion in a craft of art
A gift of joy in every way 
Love is the splendour of one's day.

Loving someone above oneself
That is the true meaning of wealth
Being together all life through
A unity made just for two
Love is the key that turns one's heart
Love is forever from the start
The sunshine that brightens all days
Bringing joy in so many ways
Love weaves a blissful habitat
And love always boomerangs back.

Love raises up one's inner soul
Love is feeling special and whole
It's the fire that keeps hearts burning 
Through life's many twisted turning
Love ignites the spirit aglow
Along the years that come and go
Love is a reason for living
Two souls receiving and giving
Love's an eternal rhapsody 
An ode to love’s sweet melody.

I love the graceful flow of the poem and its rhymes. ‘ Love is the splendour of one’s day ‘’ Love is the key that turns one’s heart’’ love’s an eternal rhapsody ‘ such exquisite, well expressed lines.
