An Ode To Broken Hearts
AN ODE TO BROKEN HEARTS
**********
in the days of the mid 1950's late 1960's
cruel love followed me, cruel dreams, nightmares!
i'd wake my arms embracing sheets!
lingering perfurmes, memories.
i begged the sandman, please over dose me.
for one night only, ere i'd did some washing.
i slept, the void of untroubled slumber, then,
i woke, dawn chorous, refreshing memories
of mornings holding treasure, golden hair
framing a bejeweld face, diamond eyes, ruby lips!
a mutual smile, as we thanked each other,
tasting toungnes, caressing we kissed.
memories, memories, work calls, six hours conselling
broken hearts, I stay focused, for they are two,
me, just one!
