An Irrepressible Poem

Each morning breaks with poem’s sound Though instant fame may not abound, God’s harmonies are hanging there For those who listen, those who care. There’s music in the milkman’s cart, That celebrates like poet’s art. The child waits for milk bottle’s chime, The poet words to fit his rhyme, All human souls are new day’s guest, And sure as lovers to be blest. Petitioners in God’s own court Find they have little left to sort. And those with patience for the Lord See there’s not much they can’t afford, Good cheer like sunshine feeds the day, Good parents find a time to play, Though up and down the avenue Are boys whose fathers named them Sue!
