More attention should be paid to things that need fixing ~ not things that don't Contests offer no free reins to sponsors ~ just another system glitch What will be left when we've no voice ~ everyone will be stripped of a choice I don't host contests, so what the heck ~ a tight fist holds sponsors in check Feistiness is my mood today ~ I suggest you stay out of my way These are just silly random thoughts ~ the kind kept hidden inside the heart I'm posting these instead of fighting it ~ took John's advice to write it I'm throwing these idioms out there ~ Don't give a fig whether you care To date or not to date? That is the question ~ Open to suggestion

If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Well said Lin. Like Jay, I often run out of topics. The contest themes have been a great source of inspiration. I have learned so much from learning about different poetic forms. It is a process I love. I do have strong feelings about dating poems with all of the intellectual property theft on the web. I have had songs stolen, recorded without my permission. I guess I'm sensitive to copywrites. Blessings. Thanks for the dialogue.

We should be sensitive to protecting what we create, Sam. Who else will? I’ve had poems plagiarized. Contests provide inspiration and the opportunity to explore new forms so anything that hinders them in any way is not a good change to me. I don’t enter many now so my word doesn’t really matter. I just wanted to write my thoughts and these escaped onto my keyboard. Thanks for sharing yours.

If I may add Lin, contestants too are offered no free reign by a certain BS sponsor, who holds the monopoly on contest rankings, but for all open minded sponsors out there, I do feel they are being squeezed and marginalised by unnecessary protocols, now I’m getting the hell out of here before you show back up! In a week, it'll be 6 months, and it still saddens me to see his picture and read his poetry, but I keep him near that way. He had a huge influence on me.

LOL David, you are one of a few who have no need to ever fear my wrath. These Monoku started out as an exercise in ridiculousness and turned out to be a vent that perhaps many of us feel but have been afraid to mention. After posting them I decided, wtf... and entered it in John's contest. What's to lose? Nothing. I agree with your assessment of the BS sponsor...Milt always thought so.
