An Illusionary Delusion

Park your delusion and drive your alter-ego
On the throughway to your minds highway.
Where function and dysfunction blend effortlessly
Without evidence of a contrasting memory.

Where comfort is meaningless
And discomfort the norm
Sending reality back
To its obsolete form.

Searching for affirmation
With a lack of information
In this current desolation
Without hope for maturation.

Where rationality
Is not a possibility
While living in a state of self-pity
Ignoring one’s ultimate mortality.

Unable to accept the reality of age
Because time cannot assuage
The questioning of one’s inner sage
While waiting for someone to turn the page.

Doomed to do the same again and again
Without a possibility to mend
The relationships with a friend
Until one’s ultimate end.
