An Ill Fated Foursome

AN ILL FATED FOURSOME

There was once a giraffe called Flashy,
Had a girlfriend whose name was Sassy
In addition, had a mistress called Trashy
And the girlfriend, a lover called Splashy

They romped and played all of the day,
Not giving a care to criminals in their way,
For danger lurked whilst they just lay,
In a dreamy, erotic, sun drenched bed of hay.

Reality soon crept up on these randy four,
As predators came knocking at their door,
The pride of lions let out a delighted roar,
Licked their chops, a mess on the grassy floor!

Your are quite right Michelle - the Giraffes got the brunt end of the deal - shame, but survival is what it is all about in the African bush! Love and hugs, Jennifer.

This is a lovely comment and compliment dear Robert, I had great fun doing it but watching a wildlife documentary about lions stalking giraffes gave me the idea for this poem, as the were so oblivious to the imminent danger they were in. Love must be really blind. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

Oh, my goodness! I was reading along, thinking "how nasty they be" when the LIONS came and that was kind of the end of them. I will have nightmares tonight. I was just starting to like the giraffes.

Giraffes are very sensuous looking animals and their eyelashes are sooooooooooooooo long, but they are not very bright! Amorous attempts when there are lions around is just plain stupid - hence my poem! Hugs and blessings - hope you slept OK!

Thanks Rick, Giraffes are to me such elegant sensuous animas and have THE most amazingly long eye lashes - happy you enjoyed. Hugs, Jennifer.

Didn't ultimately pay off though, poor Flashy, Sassy, Trashy and Splashy! They were jut part of a bigger picture, the Park's menu! I was part of the plot by writing the poem so guilty as mentioned! Hugs and blessings Jennifer.

G'day Jennifer … there's a real moral to your story here for us humans when morals are very loose - thank you Jennifer - Lindsay

You are absolutely right, never thought of that, hope it strikes home for those human beings. And your comment as always is thoughtful and relevant. Thanks Lindsay. Jennifer.

I guess, their end was quick with a pride of hungry lions on the prowl, and lions love giraffe meat! Thank you Gordon for your terrific comment, Hugs, Jennifer.
