An Honest Song
The Honest Song
By Laura Dee (Kevin Robey)

Got miles of feet marching my way
In the middle of the night they calmly speak
The chill I feel but cannot say
So fast to kill they make me weak
As red eyes peel under skies of white
The pills conceal my buried truth
I beg for courage in the morning light
To fight the echoing drums of my youth
Even if I could take this all back
I know I'd die before I lived that way again
The girl I found will never fade to black
The blades they swing won't penetrate her skin
I'm crying now but I still carry on
The tortured souls will sing our weathered song
They March my way until the coming dawn
They found a special place where we all belong
Under the guise of strong resolve
I feel so scared to face my dreams
Tonight the noise may not dissolve
Her skin will filter out the screams
...
It's not too late to make it straight
But I can't ignore my morning fate
So I lace my shoes and March along
And sing with them an honest song
Singing...
It's not a phase
It's not the new craze
Come on, race me there
Release me from despair
Release me, release me...
