An Eye For An Eye
You really don't deserve to breathe this air, you really don't deserve to look at me.
He knew the front door, he knew the stair that creaked.
He knew now how she did it
He knew now of her deeds.
Thinking of them gone forever
The burning ate away his soul
He knew he had to end it
But one thing was left before he'd go
She'd never want him to do this
Never, not even for the twins
But his life was already over
So what difference would this make to things?
He stood watching her sleep
In the dark he watched her dream
Then he shone the torch at her
She didn't see a thing
No words were spoken to her
She asked what did he want
She heard him cock the lever
Went quiet and begged him to relent
He moved the torch light from her
She was transfixed on it as it went away
He turned the torch light on himself
So she could see her reapers face
He smiled to her for a second
The bangs cracked the tension in the air
The light hit the floor
As blood flowed together
Down the wooden stair.
